Las Alvas de Chalamarca is a small village about 16 hours’ drive from Lima in the Cajamarca region and located at an altitude of 3200 m.
Currently, 79 families (316 inhabitants) make up this village. These families live in agriculture and a small animal husbandry. People mainly consume surface water and irrigation canals.
To supply this small community with water, the water will be picked up at two locations and the system will operate by gravity. The main water pipe is 90 m long. A cement washbasin will be built for each family.
